The 4-star Schloss-Hotel has a lakeside garden and features antiques, armour, heavy beams and large wooden doors, creating an appealing, almost theatrical atmosphere.
The rooms offer modern comfort, rich in decoration, with many rooms looking out onto the lake. The use of armour beams, and heavy doors give the feeling of an old castle. At the same time, the hotel offers many modern conveniences, including an indoor swimming pool, sauna, solarium and whirlpool.

Superior rooms and Deluxe rooms are found at the Schloss-Hotel or Jagdschloss which are both 4 star hotels. Superior rooms do not have a view of the lake.
Deluxe rooms are all south facing and are overlooking the lake.
Food & beverage
The Swiss-Chalet is an old 17th century farmhouse converted with skill and loving care to offer guests the hospitality they need for a truly restful and enjoyable stay. The menu includes the very best of international cuisine, with a wine cellar to match. You can choose between the old "Stube" bar, the snack bar and the restaurant for your meals.
The recorded history of this small village on the shore of Lake Lucerne can be traced back to an official document which was witnessed and signed by the knight Hermanno de Merlascachen in 1168. It is believed that this nobleman lived in a tower on the peninsula where an estate called "Burg" (fortress) still exists today. The name Merlischachen is derived from the Latin word "merula," which means blackbird, and from the German word "Schachen," meaning a small forest on a lake or stream. Another explanation is taken from the local coat of arms which is a green branch of an alder tree, "Erlenzweig," hung with flowers and fruit on a gold background. This is reminiscent of "im Erlischachen".
Besides farming and related branches of agricultural industry, the restaurant and hotel business has developed considerably in recent years.
By Car:
- From Zurich Airport, take the A1 motorway towards Zurich/Lucerne.
- From Zurich, take the A3 motorway towards Lucerne.
- Take exit 35 Horgen towards Zug, Lucerne.
- At Rotkreuz, take the A4 motorway towards Gotthard.
- Take the next exit, exit 36, for Küssnacht am Rigi.
- At the 1st roundabout, take a left turn for Merlischachen after 5 km.
By Train:
A train to Merlischachen runs every hour. It is a 12-minute journey from Lucerne.
- Every hour, there is a train (S3) leaving the main station Luzern to Merlischachen.
- Within 15 Minutes, you arrive in Merlischachen.
- Ticket rate: CHF 5.40 per person.
- A taxi is more expensive. approximately CHF 40 each way.
Cancellation
If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
Children and extra beds
All children are welcome.
All children up to 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children up to 2 years are charged CHF 10.00 per night and person for cots.
All children from 2 to 17 years are charged CHF 25.00 per night and person for extra beds.
One older child or adult is charged CHF 35.00 per night and person for an extra bed.
Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 2.
Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 6.
