Hidden in a tranquil park amid lovely flower-filled gardens, the Residence Principe Leopoldo, with its classical style and ample space, evokes the feeling of being on a Tuscan holiday.

A few steps away from the main villa, the 38 bedrooms of the residence are very spacious, designed in a country-house style and, thanks to the surrounding nature, its guests feel perfectly at ease. Guests enjoy the same deluxe service, comfort and amenities as in the main villa, where they can admire the fascinating view over the lake and the city.

In the smart residential neighbourhood where Hermann Hesse lived, 2 km from downtown Lugano, the Villa Principe Leopoldo, with the Residence Principe Leopoldo across the street, was moulded into an upmarket resort that is among Lugano's finest accommodations. More Italian than Swiss in spirit, the resort comprises a two-story mediterranean villa and a more modern residential building.

The 38 air-conditioned rooms of the residence, completely renewed in 2001, are elegant and gracious, and overlook the garden or the park. They offer all the necessary tranquillity to please any guest looking for well-deserved relaxation. All rooms either have areas separated by a floor level difference, separating the sleeping from the sitting area, or sometimes a separate bedroom.

The Principe Leopoldo Restaurant offers a very refined setting, with tapestry walls, very comfortable chairs, lovely linens, marble floors and unobstrusive lighting.

The Bar del Principe, renovated in 2000, is divided in different sections, all with tapestry walls and large comfortable armchairs, the whole making you feel at home. Enjoy musical entertainment every evening and "al fresco" cocktails on the panoramic terrace in this friendly, refined atmosphere.

The Limonaia is a winter garden that enchants you with its brightness and its light salmon colouring. On its magnificent terrace, overlooking the bay of Lugano and the heated pool, you can enjoy "al fresco" breakfast and lunch snacks in the warmer months.

The Gazebo, the natural extension of the Principe Leopoldo gourmet restaurant, offers a view over the panorama terrace and the lake, and serves dinner "al fresco".

The Café Leopoldo, located in the residence, is the ideal place for informal meals in a casual atmosphere and offers regional and Italian cuisine.

Take the “Lugano-Sud” exit off the motorway and follow the direction for “Lago”. Keep in the left lane until you reach the first traffic lights. Turn left towards “Ponte Tresa, stazione” until you come to the second traffic lights, turn left again, follow the direction for “Ponte Tresa” and the “Villa Principe Leopoldo” sign.

Reservations for the gourmet restaurant "Principe Leopoldo" at the main villa are mandatory and should be arranged prior to arrival due to the restaurant being fully booked almost every day.

In winter the "Café Leopoldo" remains closed for lunch and dinner.

The hotel is not accessible for disabled people.

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
