A cascading waterfall is not such an extraordinary sight outside the Netherlands, but did you know that there are also waterfalls in the flat Dutch countryside? Landal Heideheuvel is situated practically right next to the highest waterfall in the country! Lovely woods and heaths also surround the park. A fantastic setting for a bike ride to the 't Loo Palace. Or take a walk with the forest warden; he can tell you all sorts of things about the unusual tracks you find here and there in the woods. Did you know, for instance, that many animals walk on their toes?...

It can still be done: walk around for hours on end without running into any people…although you will find plenty of animals, free to roam here in their own territory. Especially early in the morning or as dusk approaches, you can suddenly come face-to-face with a wild boar or a red deer. But they have usually sniffed your scent and run away before you even see them. So keep your eyes and ears open! The Veluwe also abounds in culture. Don't miss Paleis Het Loo or the extensive collection at the world-famous Krüller-Möller Museum. And if you can't get enough of the wildlife, nothing can top a visit to the Apenheul, Burgers Zoo or the Dolphinarium.
