As the evening starts to set in, your hosts in our cosy restaurant have already started to cook your meal. Top off a wonderful day on the island by treating yourself to a special diner with a delicious glass of wine, which you can select from our international wine menu.

Restaurant de Wadden also serves lunch and dinner for groups. Enjoy a special island drink or night cap at the hotel bar before retreating for the evening.

The length of Vlieland is approximately 12 km and on the west side of the island this length is extended by 8 km because of a sandbank, the Vliehors. The island never exceeds 2 km in width. A well experienced hiker can walk round the island in a day, but you might rather want to take your time as there is a lot to see. Oost-Vlieland, the only village on the island, is a good starting point. Most of the historical buildings, such as the town hall, the Armhuis (former poorhouse converted into a café/restaurant) and the Tromp's Huys (museum), are listed as monuments. All the shops, bars and restaurants can be found in the Dorpsstraat. The Vlielander beach is on the north side of the island and behind this beach you will find the dune area, which is a beautiful and divers area that stretches out as far as the eye can see. All in all, Vlieland is the island par excellence for cycling and hiking and if you have visited it once, you are sure to return.

Travel to Vlieland: The ferry will take you to the island from Harlingen.
By car: Harlingen is located on the A31-N31. Follow the signs Harlingen-Haven via the ringway.
By bus: Several busconnections from Alkmaar, Leeuwarden and Heerenveen or take the Interliner from Alkmaar direct to Harlingen
By train: from Leeuwarden, tak the special boattrein.

Parking: No cars are allowed on Vlieland, you will have to park your car at the harbour of Harlingen 10 minute walk from the boat. Reservation not possible.

If cancelled up to 3 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

All older children or adults are charged EUR 35.00 per night and person for extra beds.
